I've decided to create a blog to document my dabbling into the folds of Airfix models. This is more of a log book type thing than anything anyone is ever meant (or likely) to read.
Supermarine Spitfire Mk1a (A50077) by Airfix
First couple of phases completed today. Pilot and joystick painted (although both will need a slight touch up later on) and glued it to fuselage assembly that was also glued together. Propeller assembled and painted although the tip of one blade will need touched with paint again because of where I was holding it. Wings built and attached. This is where I came across my first real difficulty as the wings were not moulded properly and the plastic didn't fit together properly. However, a quick light sanding and some extra poly and it was right as rain. I hope to have construction complete tomorrow as well as all the tiny bits painted. Main painting will be done on Wednesday. I WILL be going for the "wheels retracted" option as I hope to have it on a stand or hanging up or something. Pics in a bit.
